Investigation could be defined as “Systematic process of Fact Finding”. It is based on observation, examination, search, research and gathering of factual information. It finally leads to the logical conclusion. Robert Herrick said “attempt the end and never stand to doubt: nothing is so hard but search will find out”. “Corporate” basically means “forming one body of many individuals”. And it is an accepted fact that “Humans are the weakest links in Security”. The objectives and perspectives of a company are different from its work force. It invites some innate and acquired qualities in a corporate investigator. He has to be observant, resourceful, energetic, hardworking, receptive, intuitive, reasonable, logical, fundamental, ethical and patient. He has to keep in mind basic objectives of Investigation.

The main purpose of engaging Corporate Investigator is to outsource the job of removing obstacles from the path of a Corporate House. The progression of a Corporate has to be achieved by focused attention of the top management team. If their energies are diverted to fight out corporate battles, the main objective of the Company goes haywire. Then again, Corporate Investigator is an expert who can deal with the problem more effectively.

Last year’s estimate of expenditure on this front by those companies exceeded one hundred and fifty billion dollars.
